Riteish Deshmukh Shares A New Face Of Raksha Bandhan In Kolhapur-Sangli
A unique Raksha-Bandhan celebrated by the women of Kolhapur and Sangli flood stuck area, Riteish Deshmukh appreciates the spirit.
Incessant rainfall from 1st to 10th August caused flooding in areas adjoining the river Panchaganga in Kolhapur, Sangli and other parts of southern Maharashtra. Although the week long flooding is now receeding but the rehabilitation of evacuated civilians is huge task for Armed and Naval officers.
More than 15,000 families were evacuated by the Armed and Naval forces, still leaving more than 29 people dead. The magnitude of damage to property and agriculture is large but the rescue operations team of soldiers and local police are doing their best.
The ladies from this affected area wanted to express their gratitude to the soldiers, thus they came together and celebrated ‘Raksha Bandhan’ with their brothers who protected them and their families from the wrath of the rain gods.
Riteish Deshmukh posted a video of the same on his Instagram appreciating the culture of Maharashtra. The respect and gratitude we have for the soldiers says a lot about the richness of our land.
